Bona Bones is an animator, director, and educator whose work spans commercial, feature, and television production. She has contributed to projects for Cartoon Network, HBO, Hulu, and Amazon, with credits ranging from series animation to feature-length films.

She holds a B.F.A. in Experimental Animation from the California Institute of the Arts and an M.F.A. in Animation from the University of Edinburgh’s Edinburgh College of Art. In 2016, she was awarded the Helen Hill Fellowship at Dartmouth College, which sparked her passion for arts education. Bona is currently an Assistant Professor of Animation at the University of Kansas.

Specializing in stop-motion animation and directing, Bona also brings expertise as a seamstress, puppet and set fabricator, and production designer. Beyond her professional practice, she offers free mentorship to aspiring animators seeking guidance as they begin their careers.
